The Homeless Persons Unit helps people who are homeless or who might become homeless in the next 28 days. The help they can provide will depend on your and your household's circumstances. Further details are available on their website.
If you do not have a priority need then the council will not be able to provide accommodation but will offer advice and assistance in finding somewhere to stay. Many people living in accommodation in the private sector are unsure of their rights and are of where they can go for help. Also, many landlords renting out accommodation are not aware that the Homeless Persons Unit can offer impartial advice regarding problems they may experience with their tenants.
