The Youth Offending Service (YOS) is a multi-agency team made up of staff from Children's Services, the police, the probation service, and the health service. They work together to reduce crime by children and young people (10-17) and provide supervision for those young people who have been warned by the police, or who have been sentanced by the court. They provide support to parents in finding ways to help their child avoid further offending. They also oversee and support crime prevention arrangements for any children and young people in the borough who are at risk of crime and anti-social behaviour, and provide help for their parents.
Opening/Meeting Times:
Available to: Main YOS - 10-17 year olds who live in the borough and who have been referred from the police or from the court.
Prevention Services - any 8-17 year olds who live in the borough who are at risk of offending or anti-social behaviour.
